Key programming

Features of car key programming

A special device—an immobilizer—is used for mechanically blocking a vehicle’s power unit. Essentially, this security device prevents the car from being started raktų programavimaswithout entering a special electronic code. Therefore, if the vehicle owner has lost a key with a microchip, car unlocking, which can only be performed by a specialist, will be required. The operating principle of the security system is simple—responding to a request sent by the remote control, the program located in the microchip transmits a coded signal confirming that the owner has approached the vehicle.

A comprehensive approach to key programming

Key programming

To solve such a task, a specialist must have not only professional knowledge and skills, but also special modern equipment, as well as apply an individual approach to each specific car. Programming includes the following stages:

Key diagnostics. First, the specialist carefully inspects the device to determine whether there is any mechanical damage.

Product preparation. The key blade is made, and the appropriate microchip is installed.

Car key programming. Using special equipment, the microchip is synchronized with the vehicle’s security system.

Emergency car unlocking  – is sometimes required in cases when a broken key is in the ignition switch or in the door. In such a case, you need to call a specialist who will neatly remove the fragment and make a new key, as well as program its microchip. During the synchronization procedure, identifiers that the power unit control system will recognize as its own are registered. There are also special programmers that can read the PIN code of the electronic control unit. After it is entered, key programming becomes available. Such newly created identifiers must have a new security PIN code that is not available to any person except the car owner. Today there is also equipment capable of reprogramming any electronics and installing available options.
